Thoughts before I watched this.
1. I have been waiting awhile to watch this.
2. I just recently had the chance to check it out.
3. Owen Wilson isn't really on the top of my actors list.
4. I do really enjoy Lake Bell and Pierce Brosnan.
5. I'm glad Lake Bell replaced Michelle Monaghan not that I have a problem with the latter.
6. I tend to like these crazy sorts of films where people must fight for survival and such.
7. I have enjoyed everything I have seen from John Erick and Drew Dowdle.
8. After this the only one left I will need to see is Poughkeepsie Tapes.
9. They brought us As Above So Below, Quarantine, and wrote it's sequel.
10. It should be interesting to see them take on thriller rather than just pure horror.
11. It's interesting to note that the country was left unnamed to avoid any controversy.
12. People still found things that bothered them.
13. Either way for me I see this simply as a form of entertainment and far from factually based.
14. Time to see if this was worth waiting for.
"In their new overseas home, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape in an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. Something fishy is going on I wonder what.
2. Not at all what I was expecting wow!
3. Damn that was hardcore!
4. What a great opening for what I expect to happen quite a bit later on.
5. Pretty sure he is going to have some more scars after this trip.
6. I don't know if he is trustworthy or just really intense.
7. This actually reminds me a little of what it was like in Ethiopia with the way shops and such are.
8. I just feel something is about to happen very soon.
9. That would be kind of terrifying if you had no idea what was going on.
10. Wow that got brutal and chilling quickly.
11. Get out of there faster!
12. The terrifying thing about all this is it could happen any country (even America of course) if the people were fed up enough.
13. Is this little idiot girl going swimming without a lifeguard?
14. The music and way everyone is makes it seem totally safe, but we know it isn't.
15. That would make for an unexpected twist of fate.
16. Damn these guys have no chill.
17. Way to rip off the bandage!
18. Lol really dad jokes at a time like this?
19. WTF I've never seen that as a form of execution!
20. Oh man I wonder the thoughts running through his head.
21. Well these guys definitely mean business.
22. You have to pretty reckless to do something like that.
23. But why do that?!
24. Man that guy needs to die ASAP for that.
25. Eww no I didn't want to see that :(
26. Oh my god! They killed Kenny!
27. Damnnnnnnnnn!!!
28. Well nothing here is ever easy that's for sure.
29. You can't tell me this dude isn't pure evil.
30. That was bittersweet.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I felt super tense throughout this whole thing even scenes where I knew the outcome would be okay.
2. It surely keeps you invested from beginning to end.
3. The Dowdle brothers really know how to cater to my enjoyment.
4. I think this is highly underrated due to it's controversies.
5. The acting was great from everyone even the little girls.
6. Owen Wilson is still not one of my favorites, but he does make you care about his character.
7. I might have liked this more than most people because it was what I was hoping it would be.
8. It doesn't require too much thinking and it has high entertainment value in my opinion.
9. If you like movies that will make you white-knuckled through the whole thing I definitely suggest this one.

The Exorcism of Molly Hartley (2015) review
Posted : 9 years ago on 2 November 2015 02:16 (A review of The Exorcism of Molly Hartley (2015))Thoughts before I watched this.
1. I don't see why they made a sequel to The Haunting of Molly Hartley.
2. Nobody from the original film even returned for this one.
3. It should be interesting to see Devon Sawa as a priest.
4. Steven R. Monroe who directed the first two films of the remake series of I Spit on Your Grave takes on this unasked for sequel.
5. Matt Venne is known for writing sequels.
6. Of his sequels Mirrors 2 was quite fun.
7. White Noise 2 and Fright Night 2 however weren't quite so enjoyable.
8. I'm hoping even though this was unnecessary that it will be one of their better films
9. I'm only watching this because I was feeling exorcism for the end of my Halloween marathon.
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. It seems that pretty much all exorcism movies begin with one.
2. I'm sorry Devon Sawa just doesn't look like a father he looks like he is ready for Halloween though.
3. Looks like this father had similar troubles to than one from Emily Rose, but wasn't as lucky.
4. Wow that seemed like it was meant to just keep males interested.
5. Is that some kind of co-ed bathroom at a club??
6. What is this the horror version of Wild Things?
7. Nice booty though.
8. She is way different than she was in the previous film.
9. Well I didn't expect that, but it makes sense.
10. It may be the lighting, but Devon Sawa's character isn't looking too healthy.
11. What are the odds?
12. That was kind of amusing.
13. Lol this has to be a comedy!
14. Man this doctor is oblivious to the clues.
15. Yeah I'd like to see you try and make sense of that!
16. Felt like it was straight out of The Omen.
17. Okay I know you need his help, but he is a patient at least accompany him.
18. Well that wasn't expected.
19. Yeah that was a bit too obvious.
20. Lmao that was so cheap and cheesy.
21. Ugh that ending was lame.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. Devon Sawa is really the only good thing about this entire movie.
2. It felt very comedic although I'm sure they thought they were going for scary.
3. It seemed to blatantly rip off a few ideas from other demonic films.
4. The story seemed a bit all over the place.
5. There were several bits that absolutely would not happen the way they did.
6. I feel sad that this was the final movie I watched in my Halloween marathon.
7. I recommend passing on this one as it's worse than the previous film.

The Exorcism of Emily Rose review
Posted : 9 years ago on 1 November 2015 04:45 (A review of The Exorcism of Emily Rose)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. I have heard about this for the 10 years it's been out.
2. It's constantly mentioned as one of the best and most unique of the exorcism sub-genre.
3. I honestly don't know why I have taken so long to see this for myself.
4. It has a surplus amount of highly recognizable faces some of which are A list and B list.
5. This was directed by Scott Derrickson.
6. As a director/writer of his own films like Sinister or Deliver Us From Evil he is amazing!
7. Whenever he works on the ideas of others with sequels or remakes however he tends to fail miserably.
8. I'm glad this is his own creation.
9. Paul Harris Boardman also writes here after making the same flops with Hellraiser: Inferno and Urban Legends: Final Cut with Scott Derrickson.
10. He also worked on Deliver Us From Evil with him as well.
11. I'm really hoping this continues my belief that he is better with his own stories.
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. Those screams are unsettling.
2. This atmosphere is pretty creepy.
3. That was an interesting beginning.
4. That would have been horrifying for anyone to experience!
5. Those demon images are actually pretty neat, but of course that would not be fun to really witness.
6. Jennifer Carpenter has such an epic screaming face.
7. Oh that's interesting for sure.
8. So you're just going to leave that broken glass on the floor?
9. Hell yeah Conrad Grayson aka Henry Czerny!
10. It's very interesting to see the visual representations of the medical and spiritual perspectives of each situation.
11. That would have screwed me up if I found my wife like that!
12. Oh when she spoke in German it seems like a reference to the actual story of what this is based from.
13. I didn't see that coming at all.
14. The ending was alright.
15. So they made it seem that Emily Rose was the real person and added little "facts" before the credits.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I do believe that possession is real and so therefore I am on the spiritual end of things.
2. It was definitely more so a courtroom drama rather than just horror.
3. They managed to keep it interesting enough to see how everything plays out.
4. I swear Jennifer Carpenter really pulls off the creepiness needed here.
5. It was a little bit too long and drawn out.
6. It wasn't bad though.
7. There were some great moments and good scares.
8. I thought it was a good one time watch.

The Hallow review
Posted : 9 years ago on 31 October 2015 11:20 (A review of The Hallow)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. It seems similar to the Until Dawn game I've been playing.
2. Hooray for the Game of Thrones actors.
3. I'm wondering though if this is more fantasy than horror.
4. Never heard of the director/writer, but it looks like he is directing The Crow remake.
5. I've heard of the other film Felipe Marino wrote, but this will be the first I've seen.
6. Now I shall continue with my Halloween marathon.
"A family who move into a remote milllhouse in Ireland find themselves in a fight for survival with demonic creatures living in the woods."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. The imagery is beautifully shot for sure.
2. Oh that is just not normal!
3. This guy is way too curious.
4. Roose Bolton is still a son of a bitch. lol
5. Ah these poor naive souls.
6. I see what you're trying to do.
7. Eww what the hell is that?!
8. Uh yeah when you do stuff like that you do come off as crazy.
9. How do they not realize how abnormal that black goo looking stuff is?
10. Is he still ignorant to the fact that there are monsters out there?
11. Hello the police can't do shit when it comes to monsters.
12. Why does the dog pretty much always have to die :(?
13. Holy crap those things are creepy!?
14. I kind of figured that's what would be happening.
15. Oh man that was unexpected!
16. I don't think so.
17. This tension is really nice.
19. That has to be one of the coolest fire weapons I've seen in a movie.
20. Whoa I really didn't know what to believe.
21. That was an interesting little ending.
22. Make sure to watch until the credits are over.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. It was definitely a horror story based on fantasy.
2. The acting was really good.
3. It was muddled with a few horror cliches and people seemed to dumbed down though.
4. I was creeped out which is an accomplishment.
5. It genuinely tries to be scary, but it does allow a few jump scare attempts as well.
6. It isn't the best I've seen, but it was a fine watch for my Halloween marathon.
7. I would recommend it for a one time watch.

Circle (2015) review
Posted : 9 years ago on 31 October 2015 03:52 (A review of Circle (2015))Thoughts before I watched this.
1. I always enjoy these little hidden gem competition style horror films
2. There are a few pretty cool cast members like Julie Benz or Carter Jenkins
3. This is the only movie written and directed by Mario Miscione and Aaron Hann.
4. They had a TV show called The Vault that was on 2011-2014 with very few episodes and nobody recognizable.
5. I'm not expecting to much from this with that bit of info.
6. What I do expect is that this will be a somewhat interesting take on this kind of story.
"Held captive and faced with their imminent executions, fifty strangers are forced to choose the one person among them who deserves to live."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. I wonder how it's possible everyone is sleep standing.
2. Oh man did not see that all coming.
3. There are so many different rules here.
4. It's interesting to see how long certain people last here.
5. This kind of reminds me of a movie I watched called The Human Race (2013).
6. They both are interesting concepts on a low budget that manage to keep your attention.
7. Man this is cold blooded!
8. You really never know what's going to happen!
9. Man it's kill or be killed and you better not have an error about you.
10. The dialogue here is quite interesting especially all the topics that they cover about society.
11. It's interesting to see how some of the group is becoming desensitized to the happenings around them.
12. No sin is greater than another in God's eyes.
13. That was awesome and brave.
14. There are a few likable people in the group.
15. You even kind of want the unlikable people to last a bit longer for the drama.
16. Wow some people are so good at this!
17. I definitely would have been either one of the first to go, volunteer, or possibly go unnoticed and be close to last.
18. I never could have imagined people to make the choices that were made here.
19. Whoa that was totally unexpected.
20. That ending was great!
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I love the twists and turns throughout.
2. The acting was pretty good for it being mostly unknowns.
3. The writing was excellent and to me was well thought out.
4. I always enjoyed these types of stories.
5. For a movie that takes place in pretty much one spot with mostly dialogue this was quite suspenseful.
6. It very much caters to society as a whole with all the topics they cover on why certain people should live or die.
7. That to me was probably the best part about this being not only a suspenseful film but a social commentary in a way as well.
8. If you like smart stories with good twists and turns then I recommend giving this one a shot.

Steve Jobs review
Posted : 9 years ago on 31 October 2015 02:42 (A review of Steve Jobs)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. I wasn't going to watch anything besides horror or thrillers this month.
2. To pass the time until an event I wanted to go I ended up choosing this to watch.
3. I really did want to see this either way because it looked amazing.
4. The cast here is quite intriguing from Michael Fassbender to Seth Rogen (of all people).
5. Danny Boyle has yet to steer me in the wrong direction.
6. Aaron Sorkin is an excellent writer from what I've seen in Moneyball and The Social Network.
7. This is actually based on the biography by Walter Isaacson.
8. I liked JOBS, but I know this is going to be so much better.
"His passion and ingenuity have been the driving force behind the digital age. However his drive to revolutionize technology was sacrificial. Ultimately it affected his family life and possibly his health. In this revealing film we explore the trials and triumphs of a modern day genius, the late CEO of Apple inc. Steven Paul Jobs."
Thoughts while I watched this. (No particular order)
-Like all intellectuals seem to be Steve Jobs is quite the asshole.
-5 year old Lisa is so adorable aww!
-It needs to say Hello!
-How many times are they going to say it "needs to say Hello"?
-The way the say it though is kind of catchy.
-Katherine Waterston has this approachable look to her that makes me so attracted.
-Kate Winslet with a Polish accent is yummy.
-Michael Fassbender's Steve Jobs voice is on point.
-Jobs pretty much argues with anyone with an opposing view.
-I felt John Ortiz's talents were wasted here.
-Steve Jobs seems to be one step ahead of everyone else.
- I thought it was a unique way to tell a story where we saw only the interactions through three different product launches.
- Oh I remember using those kind of Macs in school!
- I really like Michael Stuhlbarg his characters are always bullied, but he plays them so well.
- Steve Jobs cusses quite a bit lol.
- I like the real time segmented feel to the film.
- It was cool that Seth Rogen wasn't the usual goofball he is.
- I like the little references made to future items that were made by apple.
- To see how his private life intertwined with his work life was definitely intriguing.
- Every jerk has some kind of sweetness to them even if it's practically unnoticeable.
- The ending was not what I was expecting.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. This was loads better than the Ashton Kutcher version.
2. I did like that version as well though.
3. The acting is superb even with a comedic actor like Seth Rogen taking on seriousness.
4. The style is unique and fun.
5. It hadn't been exactly what I was expecting.
6. I liked the amusing little Easter Eggs to apple products.
7. Michael Fassbender is just amazing.
8. I guarantee that this will be nominated for several Oscars and may win some.
9. So with that said I highly recommend this one.

5. It hadn't been exactly what I was expecting.
6. I liked the amusing little Easter Eggs to apple products.
7. Michael Fassbender is just amazing.
8. I guarantee that this will be nominated for several Oscars and may win some.
9. So with that said I highly recommend this one.

Everest review
Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 28 October 2015 04:21 (A review of Everest)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. What could be more horrifying or thrilling than trying to survive Mother Earth?
2. The cast here is quite well put together.
3. I almost always get a kick out of survival types of movies.
4. This should be much more realistic than Vertical Limit was.
5. It's directed by Baltasar Kormakur who did 2 Guns (which had a lot of comedy to it) and Contraband so this seems to be different sort of film for him.
6. This is written by two excellent screenplayers.
7. You have William Nicholson who wrote Unbroken, Les Miserables, and Gladiator which are all amazing films in my opinion.
8. You also have Simon Beaufoy who wrote 127 Hours and Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
9. That is enough for me to know I'm absolutely going to enjoy this.
"A hiking expedition on Mt. Everest is devastated by a severe snow storm."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. Some interesting facts like 20 groups competing to summit Everest!
2. It's one of those where we a scene from later in the film and then go back before the events even happened. *Sigh*
3. That bridge is way too high for my comfort.
4. Woohoo Jake Gyllenhaal.
5. Texans don't always have country accents...
6. I'm not comfortable with this ladder situation.
7. I don't think that's a good sign!
8. There are is a lot of headbutting and bad judgements going on.
9. Almost halfway through this and it's all just setting up for what will happen.
10. The acting is pretty good, but I'm needing something interesting to happen soon.
11. There are a few close calls here and there though I guess to try and add a little tension.
12. Now that that time is going by in closer increments I feel things are not boding as well for these climbers as things have been.
13. I actually find all these guys rather likable although when they are all covered it's hard to figure who is who.
14. I wasn't expecting that to happen.
15. Yikes that is looking ugly now.
16. So really the intensity of this is about them trying to make it back down after making the summit.
17. That has to be terrifying to witness firsthand!
18. Damn just like that...
19. Falling off of Everest has to be a horrible way to go.
20. So many frozen people :(
21. Didn't even notice they left him behind!
22. That is a lot of snow.
23. Mother Nature can be so cruel.
24. Oh man that was emotional. :(
25. OMG that is just amazing and moving!
26. That has to be pure will power damn!
27. This was a very ensemble story where several people were treated importantly.
28. The pilot is pro as hell!
29. I wonder why bodies are left on Everest?
30. Is it to memorialize and immortalize their love for climbing?
31. Aww such a beautiful ending.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. The imagery captured throughout is quite stunning.
2. All the people were quite likable and interesting to see some of who they were.
3. The writing is excellent.
4. The only issues I really had was that the pacing and length of the film were a bit stretched.
5. There were a few moments that could have been a little shorter.
6. I'm unfamiliar with the true story of which this is based so I had no idea what would happen to whom.
7. It's a pretty emotional movie with several parts I really enjoyed.
8. I wouldn't say it's a perfect film or even one of my favorites though.
9. It is worth seeing though at least once.

Hitman: Agent 47 review
Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 25 October 2015 02:38 (A review of Hitman: Agent 47)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. It isn't a horror move, but thrillers still count for me.
2. I'm a little skeptical about Rupert Friend playing Agent 47.
3. The action from what I've seen looks pretty badass.
4. Why does Ciaran Hinds have to be in this? I don't like him.
5. It doesn't have too many recognizable faces surprisingly.
6. It's from first time director Aleksander Bach.
7. Skip Woods wrote the original Hitman film as well. He also wrote A-Team (movie), A Good Day to Die Hard, and Sabotage. Unfortunately he is also to blame for X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
8. Michael Finch wrote November Man and Predators so hopefully he prevailed again.
9. Anyways I've been holding back on this so I decided to finally give it a shot.
"Focuses on a young woman named Katia van Dees, who teams up with Agent 47 in order to find her father and her true ancestry. They discover that Katia is a genetically engineered assassin just like 47. Together, they fight the Syndicate to find Katia's father."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. So we get a narrative to explain what is happening okay I guess.
2. Oh yes barcode baby!
3. Dude Hitman is always such a badass.
4. I don't know why but hitting those railings looks a lot more painful than being shot haha.
5. That math gave me a headache, but she must be really smart to do that.
6. What is Sylar up to?
7. This girl is definitely intriguing.
8. So wait this makes me wonder who the bad guy is.
9. That is not what I was expecting!
10. That's a bit silly I suppose.
11. Wait as a kid his barcode was in a different spot uh okay then?
12. Indeed better.
13. I was not expecting that twist.
14. Or maybe I'm imagining things and that barcode was there the whole time lol.
15. Was she really just swimming with just bottoms on? That makes no sense.
16. I love how brutal and high octane these fight scenes are.
17. Thank goodness Ciaran Hinds shows up after the hour mark so I don't have to deal with him too much.
18. Oh come on seriously?
19. Ahhh come on shoot him in the head!
20. Oh I didn't expect that to be what happened.
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. The action is what makes this such a likable film.
2. If it were solely for the story though this movie would fail miserably.
3. It seems to be about tied with the previous film in how overall watchable it is.
4. It kind of gave me that same idea with Mad Max Fury Road that our title character isn't the main focus of the film.
5. There are some great shots throughout.
6. The characters were all just kind of cardboard.
7. I wish they would have fleshed out a more layered story instead of mostly action.
8. The ending was a bit silly.
9. Is it a great movie? Not really.
10. It's good for a one time watch simply for the action I've mentioned though.

Hidden review
Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 23 October 2015 03:12 (A review of Hidden)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. Oh nice it's an Alexander Skarsgard movie.
2. Hmm survival during some kind of outbreak.
3. I haven't seen anything from the Duffers before, but I have heard of Wayward Pines.
4. It has quite a small cast which if done correctly should be effective.
5. I'm interested to see how this one plays out.
"A family takes refuge in a fallout shelter to avoid a dangerous outbreak."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. Okay that visual was pretty creepy.
2. I always feel like when people are talking in a black screen that the movie stopped working correctly.
3. Ugh little girl just has to have a creepy little doll doesn't she.
4. Those are weird precise holes for just a rat.
5. That is such a cute idea for a boardgame.
6. It's funny whenever the mom is portrayed as the mean one.
7. In a movie like this you sort of need the small things to add bigger reactions.
8. The look of the environment is so grim and cool looking to me.
9. I really wonder what kind of outbreak this is.
10. The flashbacks haven't been too great just the typical outbreak style stuff.
11. I hope we get a good glimpse of the creatures or whatever they are.
12. Man that was hardcore!
13. I don't like how dark it is to where I can barely see anything.
14. Holy crap what is going on?!
15. Oh man that's actually quite brilliant.
16. What a great ending!
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I have many questions about this.
2. It's very slow for a majority of the film, but the ending makes this so good!
3. Alexander Skarsgard is the bomb!
4. The twist makes this stand out.
5. I think it's definitely worth a watch!

Bloodsucking Bastards review
Posted : 9 years, 1 month ago on 20 October 2015 06:32 (A review of Bloodsucking Bastards)Thoughts before I watched this.
1. Fran Kranz and Pedro Pascal!
2. Bloody vampire comedy along the lines of something like Shaun of the Dead.
3. It looks like a whole lot of fun.
4. Never heard of the director Brian James O'Connell.
5. The writers are fresh to the scene as well.
6. One of their names is Dr. God.
7. This movie has my full attention now on that alone haha.
"Evan must find a way to stop the evil brewing amidst the cubicles at work, rescue his workplace pals, and win back his girlfriend before his life and career go from dead-end to dead."
Thoughts while I watched this.
1. So this feels a bit like Office Space and The Office just with vampires coming into the mix.
2. Is that weapon in the game what I think it is lol?
3. Each person so far has some pretty amusing quirks about them.
4. Haha man he is awkward.
5. She is so much hotter than the other girl.
6. Either he is blind to her advances or doesn't see what I see lol
7. It's weird hearing Oberyn without an accent.
8. So how long is it going to be before we see the vampires?
9. Security guard can't be a full badass lol.
10. Awesome a little bit of gore which is partially what I came to see.
11. Competitive Curling and Fantasy Fishing lol.
12. Dang it no!
13. Even better than before.
14. Finally half way in we get to see some vampire face.
15. Lol he was there for all that.
16. This guy is way too calm for what's going on.
17. Haha nice one!
18. That would have been funny either way.
19. Oh look the guy who played Shaggy in Scooby-Doo along with the guy who should play Shaggy awesome!
20. Oh yes now this is the good stuff!
21. The commentary dialogue during this is amusing.
22. Some people just talk too much haha.
23. I swear the interactions between some of these characters are hilarious.
24. Aww no that's not fair.
25. Is there a possibility of a sequel?
Thoughts after I watched this.
1. I really enjoyed the characters here and the acting.
2. The gags here were quite funny.
3. I thought the dialogue was truly amusing as well.
4. I do wish there had been more of the vampires than the last half of the movie.
5. I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel.
6. If you like a silly comedy horror film I recommend checking this one out.
