Andron review

Posted : 7 years, 9 months ago on 14 July 2016 06:21 (A review of Andron)

So despite all the negative reviews I have seen about this I still want to see for myself. I have seen many bad movies. I'm sure it can't be the worst of them. It also has a few decent actors. I mean Danny Glover and Alec Baldwin. It's said to be a mixed breed of The Hunger Games and Maze Runner. I don't really have a problem with that although I do wish things could be a bit more original. This is the only credit for writer/director Francesco Cinquemani though. It's definitely weird to see singer Skin here. This also feels a bit like Condemned. If it had any cars it would be a lot like Death Race too lol. Anyways it may not be necessarily original, but I always do get a kick out of these types of stories. These are definitely one of my guilty pleasures. Given the cast I feel like I know who may survive. Hopefully they twist it around though. Was that on purpose or what? That was so quick I wasn't expecting it. It's getting fairly interesting. Well that was odd. I wonder if that's a reality or just some interesting aspect of the "game". Okay the tattoo is on their necks. So how is he going to ask that guy if that's his like he knows lol? The green screen is real with this one lol. That twist was a bit corny. Lol okay then Sherlock. Wow that was a cool looking view. I knew who would be at the end from just seeing that cast lol. Okay that lost shot was weird. I don't understand why it happened. Also the mid-credits thing was really stupid. I knew it wouldn't be the worst thing I have seen. The characters are okay. There weren't really any main characters. Skin should never act again. Her music and voice is amazing. As for acting she is dreadful. It had a few moments that were fine. People made some pretty lame and nonsensical actions throughout. I wouldn't recommend giving this a try. It's just a copycat to the core.

ClownTown (2017) review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 12 July 2016 06:49 (A review of ClownTown (2017))

I just randomly decided to go ahead and check this one out. I mean it sounds kind of interesting. A gang of serial killer clowns. This is the only film directed by Tom Nagel so far. As for Jeff Miller he wrote the Wrath of Paul Bunyon horror film. It was pretty bad, but at least it had been creative. It kind of reminds me of Funhouse Massacre, but not everyone was a clown in that. Omg did they really show a mailbox with the named Strode on it! That little boy is definitely a creep. Of course they throw in a bit of boobage lol. Okay that can't be a good sign. That was kind of a weak kill. Also that opening was just way too close to being an exact copy of Halloween. I mean come on they even added that the family was Strodes. He let him touch the ring and he didn't wash his hands! I find it funny that the kills so far have only shown the hand and the weapon of the killer. The second kill was a little better than the first though. Well that was an interesting introduction. The kill was weak, but nonetheless it was intriguing. It kind of reminds me of Wrong Turn meets The Devil's Rejects or House of 1000 Corpses. This dude really just said food is worse than being killed lol. They constantly talk about these clowns like they are a supernatural force. It's amusing, but also very cheesy. Okay that looks pretty painful. Also kick the freaking door down! Quit wasting time already and get to it! Wait a minute I was not expecting that. The decisions the people make here are just obscene given the situation. There is just no way a lot of that would happen if this happened in the real world. Dude you are right there why don't you do it? Oh that's why then. That was actually kind of a badass move. The best kill is something you don't even see nice. This was not very good. It's got so many cliches and copies from other films that it just feels like a mash up. It had some moments though. The acting was kind of dull. The characters were so bland. I think the clowns were the only ones of interest. Also the production looked nice mostly except a few scenes where it looked like some awful low budget stuff. Give this one a skip.

Scream review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 8 July 2016 06:37 (A review of Scream)

The first season was just okay. This second season though is so boring! It's really bad. 6 episodes in and only 2 deaths. The only good thing is the mystery of who is the killer. Other than that this season is just trash. It should be one of those shows where people die every episode. It's a disgrace to Wes Craven the way it's going. It should have been called anything else.

Dancin': It's On! (2015) review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 8 July 2016 10:50 (A review of Dancin': It's On! (2015))

I was surfing Netflix for something to watch and I was bored. The only reason I'm watching this is because it apparently has a bunch of SYTYCD alumni. David Winters hasn't written or directed anything in nearly 30 years! I have never heard of anything by him from before either. David A. Prior has a lot of cheap look movies under his belt. So I'm really not expecting anything from this. These reviews on IMDB cannot be by real viewers lol. Let's just hope the dancing is fun. Ah cheerleaders that's a wonderful way to start it off lol. Is he going to get fired because that would be funny. This opening is pretty corny. Oh lord this acting is so soapy. Even the production looks a bit soapy. It's probably why their acting is through dancing and not actually taking on acting roles. No way people would act like that lol. Okay I'm watching this with subtitles on Netflix and when the girl says her name is Jennifer the subtitles say Jerry haha! This movie is extremely fantasy like. I was hoping for a normal movie with dance sequences. It's worse than I could've imagined. Still the dances can't be all that bad I hope. Haha Jerry is her father. Why is the bellboy creeping so hard? This is much worse than the worst of Disney Channel original films. Uh what exactly is a bellboy capable of lol? That redhead and her duo backup are pretty nice to look at. That was a decent dance, but it was nothing really impressive. Is he really serious with that? I mean that dance was okay. It could have been better though. Lol what in the hell was that? That mime is one creepy ass dude. I'm still waiting for Comfort and this is halfway over. At least the main girl is nice to look at even if everything else is awful. God these characters are so oblivious. With less than 20 minutes left we finally get a few good dance numbers! Lyrics with a mention of Myspace lol. That is one odd dance number. That dude gives up way too freaking easily. Many things are so oddly done here. It's a huge waste of time, fun, and pretty much anything you can think of. i was disappointed that Comfort was only in 1 scene! Russell Ferguson was the best thing about this. His acting wasn't great, but it was way more tolerable than the rest. His character was also the most interesting if you ask me. Anyways avoid this like the plague. It's so dreadful and painful to sit through.

Spotlight review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 8 July 2016 08:32 (A review of Spotlight)

Alright time for another real story that was nominated for Oscars that is now on Netflix. This one will surely be more serious than the other one though given the content. I like Thomas McCarthy's films. He did Up, The Cobbler, and Million Dollar Arm. I haven't seen any of Josh Singer's films yet though. I also really like the cast here. A newspaper suing the Catholic Church has to be a very intense thing to do. The toughest cases to take are always the most interesting and important to history. These interviews are very intriguing and eye opening. I mean it's a very common and well known subject, but it is definitely something that should be covered. These stories are pretty sad. Priests are way too impressionable on little kids and it's just messed up. I can't believe they got away with it for so long. I also can't believe the things they said or did. This is very eye opening. There are so many things in the world that are corrupt. Wow those are some disturbing numbers! Oh well that was different. It's still not okay, but it does make things more interesting. It's crazy how people who do bad things are protected by laws and people who just don't want the trouble it could bring. These kind of things are still relevant especially these days where bad cops get away with killing people who weren't causing trouble. I kept thinking Law was meaning the law and not a person. Well that's an unexpected twist of events. Wow that was powerful. That's a huge amount of churches that haven't been covered. So the acting is excellent. The story is very eye opening. I don't know what else to say other than it's definitely a much watch.

The Big Short review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 8 July 2016 03:21 (A review of The Big Short)

So even though this and Spotlight were at my job I never got around to checking them out. It's a good thing Netflix has both of them so I can watch them without having to be at work on an off day lol. I usually despise Adam McKay's movies as they are usually with Will Ferrell. They end up being just average or terrible in my opinion. He did write the surprisingly great Ant-Man film though. The only other film I saw written by Charles Randolph was Love & Other Drugs which was pretty good. Anyways let's see how they do here together. I mean it was nominated for several Oscars and I've heard many good things. I mean it does have a huge variety of really well received actors as well. That was definitely an interesting set up for what's to come in the rest of this story. Okay he definitely is one unusual guy only because of his personality. Yeah so who doesn't want Margot Robbie in a bubble bath?? Mark Baum is one truly angry dude. Well now it's pretty understandable why. They are all laughing in his face, but I'm pretty sure they will be laughing in his face later. Oh wow a scene from the short The Landlord. Thank God it didn't show Will Ferrell lol. I have to say I had no idea the fourth wall would be broken so much here. Okay I wasn't expecting anyone else to break the fourth wall lol. I do like that they simplify information for those who don't quite understand the subject matter. Haha they are even mentioned what is accurate and not in the fourth wall scenes. Oh man that's kind of sad. Those guys are some assholes. Damnit Schmidt. Well that's an interesting strip club scene. This has some interesting choices for music. Wow Mark Baum was/is something else lol. Oh man rich people are some truly cocky and rude people. Okay well that was a pretty cool and interesting explanation. I don't like how they cut out sound sometimes. It makes me feel like something broke. This is really a messed up situation and sad for the families that got screwed. I swear I hate how so many people get away with destroying other people's lives. All the facts that they covered in this were really interesting. Adam McKay finally made something awesome. The acting was great. The people were definitely an interesting bunch. The storytelling style was unique although sometimes it was a little frustrating. It's definitely a must see though in my opinion.

The Choice review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 7 July 2016 08:51 (A review of The Choice)

I'm really only watching this because I've seen every other Nicholas Sparks movie and for Alexandra Daddario! I wish she was the main girl lol. I have heard of Ross Katz only other well known movie which I eventually plan to see as well. More so if this is any good. Bryan Sipe's only other writing credit is Demolition which I also need to see. Oh lord that country accent is super deep! Okay despite the accent I like the main guy much more than the main girl so far. These dogs are both amusing though. I wonder what the huge tragic moment will be or who is going to end up dead in this one lol. That always seems to be the running theme of these films. Okay she is growing on me now. Haha the irony and cheesiness. One interesting thing I notice about a lot of these Nicholas Sparks stories is they almost always involve cheaters lol. These movies just glorify cheating on a person we are to assume they are happy with until someone else comes along. They are almost always easily snatched away by the charm of the new guy. These are the kinds of girls you would never actually want to be with due to their ever changing hearts lol. The guys are the kind you never want to be around your girls lol. It's pretty amusing to see in a movie, but in real life it's going to just mess you up. Just when I got to liking her. These home-wrecking dudes are almost always more likable than the other guy. Okay this scene is pretty hilarious. You know I'm watching this and I can't help but think Teresa Palmer would have been an amazing Bella Swan in Twilight. It may have even been much more tolerable. Aw man I got a bad feeling about this. I knew that was going to be the reveal. Damn this ending put me in my feelings. This is much better in my opinion than people give it credit for. The acting is good. I liked the characters. It's funny as well as heart-wrenching. My only real gripe is I wished Alexandra Daddario and Teresa Palmer had switched roles lol. I do think the mains had good chemistry though. If you like Nicholas Sparks I'm sure you will enjoy this one.

Lethal Weapon 4 review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 6 July 2016 08:24 (A review of Lethal Weapon 4 )

I am finally about to finish this series. It's awesome how many of the actors stuck around for these films as well as director Richard Donner. I have seen one other Jonathan Lemkin written movie Shooter. It was pretty good in my opinion. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar both wrote a few well known films. Not many of them that good except Spider-Man. Channing Gibson wrote the Walking Tall remake as well as Cradle 2 the Grave. The latter of which failed. Anyways it's time to take on the final round of the series. Finally Riggs gets a permanent hairstyle change. Murtaugh will just never learn will he lol. This pyromaniac dude is actually pretty badass. Okay those explosions are on par with some Michael Bay stuff. It was pretty insane, but I actually thought it was fun. I never knew that these were vastly comedic instead of serious action movies until I started watching them. The jokes are fairly amusing of course. Jet Li's rat tail hair is bothering me. Now they have dealt with some tough enemies, but these guys have taken it to another level for sure. Damn that guy got messed up. That was a fairly fun car chase and even a bit different. Well that has to be the best way to give someone unexpected news. Aw no no no! Hey uh what about the other two kids? Okay I have to say I wasn't expecting that. Well I guess they are done playing games now. I don't see how that's possible but sure. Aw that's kind of sweet and sad. The ending was pretty adorable and cheesy. It's a much different series than I had expected, but at times it was still pretty entertaining. I wish we got to see more fighting from Jet Li, but I can't really complain with what they did give. The second one is still my favorite. This one is on par with part 3 more or less.

The Angry Birds Movie review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 4 July 2016 04:46 (A review of The Angry Birds Movie)

Honestly I really don't think this is going to be great. I hope it will still be somewhat decent though given the talent. The cast is quite impressive excluding the dreadful Maya Rudolph. This is the directorial debut for both Fergal Reilly and Clay Kaytis. This is the story debut for John Cohen, Mikael Hed, and Mikko Pรถllรค. Jon Vitti has dealt with many animated stories including The Simpsons, King of the Hill, and sadly the Alvin and the Chipmunks first two installments. So there is a chance this could be awful or possibly good. All I know is I hope it's not worse than Free Birds. He kind of reminds me of Scrat from Ice Age lol. Clowns are a trigger lol. Not going to lie Hannibal kind of sounds like Chris Rock here. He is a bit more violent than say Anger from Inside Out who also happened to be red. Aw that's just nasty and rude. At least some of his anger makes sense. There are definitely some noticeable jokes for adults spread out here. Haha I'm just anticipating what's going to happen next. I think I'm going to like Chuck. Oh my gosh wow lol. Man now I want to know what Terence is in for! Wait so Sean Penn doesn't actually talk? Yeah Maya Rudolph plays an annoying character so that's even worse. Haha Jon Hamm. These adult jokes are just relentless and a bit overdone. Oh lord Country music. Why does it have to be Country? There are actually some funny little moments and lines throughout. I'm pretty sure that was a Magic Mike reference. Okay I gotta admit that's hilarious, but it feels a bit awkward for a kid's film. Will you look at that they're teaching kids not to worry about plastic in the ocean. Did they really just go there? "Angry Flocking Birds" come on! These jokes are trying way too hard sometimes. It can be a bit tiresome and groan worthy. Then sometimes they get you with one that works so well! This just keeps going back and forth with enjoyment for me. I like that they put in a lot of elements of the games. Oh my god nice little classic movie reference. A bit strange. Okay I'm not going to lie this is beginning to be quite funny. I'm pretty sure that was basically the Quicksilver scene from X-Men: Days of Future Past. I wasn't expecting it to be that dark there. That's a pretty decent ending. Of course with this kind of movie you should expect more during the credits. Despite a few lame jokes I got a kick out of it. It's not great, but it's definitely better than I was expecting.

Pandemic review

Posted : 7 years, 10 months ago on 3 July 2016 11:23 (A review of Pandemic)

I have been meaning to check this out. Zombies+Found Footage+First Person Shooter=Fun Time (at least in my opinion). It has a pretty good main cast as well. A little odd to see Missi Pyle in such a role, but hey good on her for trying to branch out a bit. I also found that a coworker who would normally despise such movies loved it so for me that's a plus. This is directed by John Suits who did The Scribbler and Breathing Room. Both of which I thought were quite excellent and highly underrated. This is the first film written by Dustin T. Benson. Anyways thank goodness for Netflix. Let's get this show on the road. I was wondering who was behind the camera. Hey look at that not all of it is found footage which I'm sure is a plus for some. Okay that was a bit odd, but I'm sure there has to be some explanation for it. Interesting that there are 5 types or it seems more like stages. Either way that's an interesting take on things. Well that's a vastly different Alfie Allen than the way Theon/Reek is. That was insane. Whoa what a curbstomp! They don't seem to care given what they just went through. Damn that's a crazy place to be hanging from. Nope don't do it. You can't trust these situations! People just never learn. This is definitely not your typical zombie film. Really with the jump scare music? The first person parts are definitely like something out of a video game which is pretty fun. I kind of saw it going that way. That's definitely all kinds of messed up. Oh damn! Wheeler is a freaking badass! Goodbye Reek hello Wheeler! What no? That couldn't have happened! What a painfully slow way to be killed. I can't say that I was expecting that. I had a good feeling about that. Alfie Allen does such a great American accent. I swear Brits can always do ours better than we can do theirs lol. Well that went far differently than I had expected. Jesus that's pretty brutal! Oh man the tension is real. I feel like there is going to be a commercial break right here. Of course! That was insane! Lord that ending! I swear this is a bit predictable at times, but hey it's still pretty fun. Some of it though was quite surprising. I do wish that Gunner would have died on screen at least instead of the way they did it. Wheeler was the best character out of everyone. The acting was pretty good. I recommend it for the definite zombie fans. I thought it stands out well.
