Jersey Shore Massacre review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 28 August 2014 04:15 (A review of Jersey Shore Massacre)We either love or hate Jersey Shore. Either way seeing a bunch macho Italian type people getting killed has to be funny even if kind of ridiculous. I mean the cast mostly consists of pornstars and wrestlers so that kind of already gives you a hint about how good or bad this movie is going to be. Oh lord this was produced by JWoww herself. I thought the trailer looked pretty funny though and I even liked the music too. If this is as funny as it's trailer I might like it. While the women are pretty annoying the actresses playing them were pretty attractive. I felt like I was watching an episode of Jersey Shore that went awry. The death scenes varied from goofy to decent to quite gruesome even. It takes awhile to get to the gooey stuff, but when it does it gets pretty consistent. There are several goofy little scenes one in particular involves a jellyfish. The acting from some of the minor characters is pretty awful. I think the main cast did well at pulling off the stereotypes. The ending was pretty cheesy, but then again the whole thing was cheesy. I actually thought it was pretty enjoyable for what it was.

Rampage: Capital Punishment review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 27 August 2014 03:51 (A review of Rampage: Capital Punishment)Okay I am one of the people that usually hates Uwe Boll, but Rampage was one of the films of his that was actually interesting. So since the first one was good I decided why not check out the sequel. This isn't as extreme as the first one, but it is still pretty good. Surprisingly the writing in this though is much better than the previous. It is full of conspiracy theories. You know some directors can surprise you. Now I wouldn't let mentally unstable people watch this kind of movie though or anyone underage. This is the kind of film that could cause real life issues. I mean seriously with all the shootings going on these days it makes a scenario like this seem pretty likely. The Purge is a good movie, but it has put crazy ideas into people's heads. This movie is for mature people that knows it isn't meant to cause real life chaos. It felt a lot like Postal just like the first one. Uwe Boll even directed the live action version of Postal which also starred Mike Dopud. Anyways I actually liked it to be honest.

Hell No review

Leprechaun: Origins review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 26 August 2014 11:05 (A review of Leprechaun: Origins)I have been wanting to see this for awhile. I only ever liked the first Leprechaun and the rest were mediocre to crap. I always give a new movie a chance especially when it's re-imagined. I mean I love Warwick Davis, but the cheesiness just didn't keep me interested. Anyways I hear that people are somewhat disappointed by this one. I however never listen to others because well I like the ability to speak for myself. The acting is alright. The death scenes were pretty gruesome. This was originally said to be a prequel, but it doesn't seem anything at all like that. It seems like a completely new story. The Leprechaun doesn't speak at all and you can barely see it throughout most of the movie. Whenever I did see it I did think the make up was pretty good, but it was quite different than the campy version of course. I did like the different premise they used in this which was interesting enough. It for the most part felt like just some creature feature about a random Leprechaun. I don't see this spanning out to more films, but it was an okay film. What do you expect from WWE as the producers? It was still better than the Leprechaun sequels though.

The Prince review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 26 August 2014 05:08 (A review of The Prince)What's with Bruce Willis and John Cusack doing all these direct to DVD movies lately. Also it's interesting that a lot of them are with 50 Cent too. The trailer looked interesting enough anyways so I decided to give it a shot. Jason Patric is pretty interesting as the lead. The fight scenes were decent, but nothing really special. I think the coolest part was the shootout in the drug house. Bruce Willis spends about as much time in this as he does in the first Expendables which is odd. The acting is okay. It's mostly just kind of boring and short. I would give this one a pass.

The Fault in Our Stars review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 26 August 2014 02:57 (A review of The Fault in Our Stars)I heard a lot about this, but only when the movie came out. Before that I didn't even know it existed. Anyways given the cast I decided to go ahead and check it out for myself. The characters are interesting and unique specifically Isaac and Gus. I liked how even though the subject matter is serious there is a good amount of humor. Merlotte still felt like Merlotte here to me. The acting was excellent from all involved. It is inspirational and emotionally moving. I was surprised at the way it turned out as I have never read the book like most of the people who have seen this. The dialogue in this was really good at times. I am a guy, but I am a sucker for romance films. Yes I admit that. I don't care who knows it. This was an amazing and well done film. It makes you think. It makes you laugh. It makes you cry. It makes you melt. I am sure it will make you feel something.

Maleficent review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 25 August 2014 08:13 (A review of Maleficent)It's always pretty interesting to see a different perspective on a classic story. There are some pretty good casting choices in this that caught my eye. There were many amazing creature and character designs. It's quite visually stunning as well. Before Maleficent becomes evil I thought it was kind of cheesy and Angelina Jolie's acting was a little awkward. I did think once she actually became the Maleficent that we all know she fit it perfectly. There are some pretty intense moments that I wasn't expecting. The battle scenes are pretty cool albeit a little short. It's interesting to see Maleficent still have humor amongst her wickedness. Some of it didn't go as I would liked it to. It was different than I was expecting it to be. It felt a bit short and resolved to quickly though to be honest. I actually enjoyed this more than I thought I would anyways. I did like the way they made the story in this version even if a bit cheesy. The ending was great.

Get on Up review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 25 August 2014 05:39 (A review of Get on Up)Chadwick Boseman was amazing in 42. As a young and fairly new actor it can be hard to make a name for yourself. He doesn't seem to have any sort of trouble with that. The fact that he is also playing a legend such as James Brown gives him even more cinema cred. He is also supported with an amazing cast of some hard hitters. Boseman proves acting is his calling again with an amazing performance. He had James Brown down to the T in my opinion. Actually the acting on all accounts was amazing. The music has a good selection of some well known hits that are performed well. It is highly entertaining, dramatic, and still has a great amount of humor. I didn't realize the troubles he had gone through as a kid. He may have been a great musician, but he was clearly not the nicest person. Now I understand how he became the way he was, but it doesn't really justify his actions towards people. It seems that a lot of great musicians had tough lives or weren't really the best kind of people. I found it ironic when Nelsan Ellis mentions about Martin Luther King Jr's assasination as he had played him in The Butler. I like the fourth wall breaking. The way James Brown was it seems like something he would have actually done. It is an amazing film with a lot of funk. It's also pretty emotional while also have moments that make you full of joy. The ending was great and sweet. It is definitely a must see especially for James Brown fans.

X-Men: Days of Future Past review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 23 August 2014 03:49 (A review of X-Men: Days of Future Past)X-Men has a long history for my family. I am named after Wolverine (my name being Logan and all). I loved Bryan Singer's X-Men movies. Last Stand sucked (the one he didn't direct), but X-Men: First Class (also from another director) brought back the greatness of the series. This one has the better actors/characters of both casts meshed together. It was cool to see some new characters as well as different variations of old characters. I thought the sentinels looked pretty cool. The fight scenes are intense and some are more brutal than I was expecting. I think whenever they fought the sentinels it was just downright awesome. There was a little humor spread around, but the storyline made it one of the more serious entries of the series. I wish that some of the mutants had more screen time. I literally got chills from how amazing the ending was. There were some pretty cool cameos although I sure wish Stan Lee actually showed up like usual. Of course you must make sure to stay after the credits. It was a great movie for sure.

Boyhood review
Posted : 10 years, 3 months ago on 20 August 2014 03:01 (A review of Boyhood)The concept of this is extremely interesting. Most of the time a film about someone growing up usually has several actors playing the part or sometimes even throws in some CGI. It is a very original and creative story. It's fun to watch as the years go by and we see our actors literally age on-screen with no effects. Not only do our characters age, but you can tell visually the cinematography improves as well. When it starts it looks like something that belonged in 2002 (when it first started filming) and when it's near to the end it visually belongs in the now. I find it cool that they throw in a lot of pop culture and world events that pertain to each year that this takes place in. This is one example of being able to see someone's acting skill improve with experience. It's interesting to see that kind of thing happen in one film. I think even though some things are missing the reasons behind it don't really matter. It's about watching Mason grow up and dealing with father figures, friendships, life, and love. It gets it's message across and that's what matters. The ending wrapped it up nicely. I greatly enjoyed this. It's good that the cast stuck with it through the years. It's a must see literal coming of age story.
