The Expendables 3 review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 28 July 2014 03:56 (A review of The Expendables 3)I have wanted to see this for awhile now. I love the jokes the characters make that actually pertain to the real life situations like Wesley Snipes mentioning tax evasion. Antonio Banderas brings a lot of the humor to this one. Not as much action I was hoping to see, but when it happens it is awesome. Around the last forty minutes or so things finally kick up to endless action. I wish Jet Li and Terry Crews would have had a lot more screen time. It's better than the first one, but I think it's about equal with the second one. I feel like there will be at least one more and I wouldn't be mad. I need more of The Expendables. I think the new recruits were great especially Galgo and Luna. It was well worth the watch.

Worse than the first one! Can you believe it?
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 25 July 2014 03:36 (A review of Seed 2)I am going out on a limb here. This may be horrible or just okay. I mean it isn't directed by Uwe Boll this time, but he is presenting it so it can go either way. Only 3 minutes in and already it has one really obnoxious and vile scene. The movie is all over the place and makes absolutely no sense. It just constantly jumps from scene to scene with no cohesiveness to it. The acting is horrible. The writing is even worse. The music gets intense for no reason sometimes and tries to make you jump by suddenly getting loud. The story was predictable and ridiculous. The ending was stupid and nothing that happens is explained at all. It is a complete waste of time and money. It wasn't even directed by Uwe Boll and it was worse than most of his movies. It almost felt like a really pathetic attempt at The Hills Have Eyes without breaking copyright laws. Everything about this movie sucked. I think the only good thing were a few of the death scenes (2 of which made no sense by the way). Also I guess the girl with the tattoos was attractive enough, but that's all.

Wolf Creek 2 review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 24 July 2014 03:45 (A review of Wolf Creek 2)I have no idea why I am watching this. I didn't even finish the first film because it was just gross in a non horror way. I am hoping this one is just gross in horror and not like the first one. Mick is definitely one of the most disgusting serial killers of the horror film genre. He doesn't only look kind of rapey and creepy. He is rapey and creepy. The kangaroo scene I could see as being dark comedy. I think if he wasn't always trying to rape his female victims I would probably enjoy him as a killer. As it stands with him doing really disgusting things in a "sexual" manner I can't find myself enjoying those parts. As a killer in general though he is much more disturbing and interesting. I like how it technically has a few different groups instead of just one. Honestly this is way better than the first one. If you are offended by racial slurs I suggest staying away, but if you aren't easily offended by that it's a crazy ride. The ending was pretty interesting too.

The Quiet Ones review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 23 July 2014 03:29 (A review of The Quiet Ones)I have been eager to see this movie for awhile. I am not exactly sure why, but from the trailer it looked intriguing. It's a little bit found footage, but for the most part it is filmed normally. I find it interesting that the professor tries to explain everything that is going on with science, but everyone else knows it's something far more dangerous. There were a few interesting little twists near the end. This to me is one of the better new possession movies. It's different and brings some new stuff to the genre. People say it is very slow and nothing happens, but honestly more happens throughout the movie than most of the Paranormal Activity movies. There are a few silly little jump scenes as usual though. I enjoyed it.

Chrysalis review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 22 July 2014 05:19 (A review of Chrysalis)In this day and time it's hard to give us a fresh new look at the zombie sub-genre. This is one of those times where it doesn't give anything really new. The acting isn't bad though and it's a well written story. This one is more of a tragic romance that just so happens to be involved in a zombie apocalypse. I find it interesting though that the main characters grew up in a zombie infested world rather than having it happen after they had already grown up. It's a little weird that the dogs are never shown. Maybe they couldn't afford real dogs with the small budget I guess. There is one original little twist in the story that brings a little something new into the genre. The ending was pretty good. I actually enjoyed it. Not a bad watch at all.

Starred Up review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 22 July 2014 01:02 (A review of Starred Up)I just recently saw the trailer for this and so I am glad I got the chance to check it out. It looks to be a great move for Jack O'Connell in his first lead role. The acting is perfect. The scenes are powerful and intense. I enjoy a good prison movie and this one is definitely on the top for me. I liked how it was a little different than your typical prison movie, but still carried a few of the common prison movie cliches. The ending was really well done and touching. I would highly recommend checking this out if you are looking to find a great fresh prison movie.

Tammy review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 21 July 2014 07:08 (A review of Tammy)I usually enjoy Melissa McCarthy and this has a pretty good comedy cast. I thought the fast food robbery scene was probably the only actually funny scene in this. Most of this was actually really depressing and not even close to funny for most of the time. It was a complete waste of time and pretty boring. I would say skip this one as it has nothing much to offer.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 21 July 2014 05:15 (A review of The Amazing Spider-Man 2)I have been dying to see this for awhile now. I finally got the chance. The beginning is pretty awesome. I like how the superhero movies are starting to make the parents a bit more badass than they used to be. The fight scenes are pretty awesome although a bit video game-like. I thought they had some interesting villains. There is a great amount of witty humor throughout all the drama and action. I would have liked for there to be more of a relationship between Harry and Peter. I actually liked really liked the music. I thought the part where he is making music while fighting was unique. I felt a little bit disappointed with a few things. I liked it well enough though. I felt this one was more of a set-up movie for the future of Spider-Man. I think they tried to throw too many villains into this like they did with the previous trilogy and ended up with not enough screen time for them all. I mean this was already 2 hours long and I didn't get to see much of the villains I wanted to see. I didn't really like Rhino's costume too much. Nowhere near as good as the previous film though to be honest.

Repentance review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 20 July 2014 04:04 (A review of Repentance)I been wanting to see this since I saw the trailer. I didn't expect to see such big names involved in such an unknown film. So the acting wasn't bad at all. The writing and story however felt like it was too rushed and missing something. The ending didn't make sense in terms of how real people would react. I felt no compassion for any of the characters. I was very disappointed in this film. Pass on it.

sextape (2013) review
Posted : 10 years, 4 months ago on 17 July 2014 05:57 (A review of sextape (2013))Eh I decided to watch this because I am crazy. No really though it's better me than you don't you think. The catchphrase is some tapes shouldn't be made and from the looks of the reviews and ratings the movie itself shouldn't have been made. That's why I am watching this. I want to see if it really is so bad. The main characters are complete tools. They also make really poor decisions and really don't stick with their personalities. Like the boyfriend shows her the place to which he then starts freaking out about not wanting to go inside. Then after finally get inside he decides he wants to stay overnight. As for the girl she isn't into the idea of making a sex tape and all of a sudden boom she wants to do it. The girl is hot though. Just I don't understand how these characters work at all. Also how the hell is there any power in this abandoned building. I mean yes I know it's haunted, but it just seems a bit silly to me. The last 20 minutes is really where all the actually interesting stuff is. The dialogue at times gets to be really bad. I was a little confused at the ending. Where was the final scene compared to the timeline of the movie. Was it before the main part of the movie or after. Anyways it was pretty awful as I thought it would be.
