The Signal review

I saw a preview for this a couple months back and was truly intrigued. I had to see it as it looked unusual and interesting. I finally saw that it was at my local theater and almost missed the beginning, but got the ticket just in time. The start off is kind of slow and the it paces steadily getting more intense as it gets further into the story. The imagery is beautiful and makes you feel wowed by how stunning everything looks. The story is interesting and keeps you sucked in until the very end. The acting is great even from the lesser known main actors. I have to say that the twists and turns throughout were well done. I really enjoyed this one very much go check it out if you see it playing near you. Oh I think the only mark against this for me was having Lin Shaye in it being her obnoxious weird self again.

The Angriest Man in Brooklyn review

The cast for this is really amazing. I say everyone did a great job. My favorite scene though would probably be the one with James Earl Jones. It seems kind of similar to the kind of dark humor that was The World's Greatest Dad. I say this is really underrated and in my opinion is one of his better dramedies. I loved the ending. It wasn't what I was expecting and surprised me with how good it turned out to be. I would watch this again. No questions asked. I say give it a try I don't know why people are hating on it.

Blended review

I'm not sure how this will go seeing as the past few Adam Sandler movies have been mostly misses, but I decided to check it out anyways. The cast is decent and I doubt it will be worse than Jack & Jill. You never know though. Frank Coraci has done 3 decent movies with Adam Sandler so that is a good sign. Before they get to Africa I was pretty bored with this, but I stuck through with it and was surprised by the outcome. It was actually pretty entertaining and I laughed hard a few times. Terry Crews definitely stole the show whenever he appeared on screen. There were a few awkward moments, but that is to expected from a Happy Gilmore production. I enjoyed the characters and their quirks. I say it was a pretty interesting movie made from a simple plot.

Joy Ride 3: Road Kill review

Oh I may have made a mistake deciding to watch this. The director is the same guy involved with Parts 3-5 in Wrong Turn. That being said 5 the latest entry was the worst which doesn't show promise for checking this out as it is the third movie in a pretty average and honestly boring series. Let's hope I am wrong about this one. So it starts with 2 junkie idiots and a really awkward sex scene. The acting in the scene I just though was ridiculous even if right on the money. It was just so laughable I couldn't take it seriously. This entry is far gorier than the previous ones. Surprisingly I actually enjoyed it better than them as well, but only slightly. I did think the actors did a fine job, but the storyline was average. The ending was cheesy as expected. Not bad though a good entry, but hopefully if the do another one they stop. I would rather not see this guy butcher a 5th one like Wrong Turn. Anyways it is definitely a joy ride.

Tracks review

I thought the story looked pretty interesting. I didn't know at first that it was based on actual events. The acting is really great and the characters are interesting. I would have to say I never really knew too much about camels until I watched this. I think it is a bit educational and yet still entertaining. I would have to say though that my favorite thing about this movie was the animals themselves. That being said the acting was still pretty good. It was an interesting journey filled with interesting characters, moments where you learned new things, and even a few emotional scenes. The environment and some scenes were quite beautiful to look at. The ending was cute. Not a bad watch at all. I really enjoyed this one.

Parts Per Billion (2014) review

I saw the trailer for this and wanted to see it automatically. It has a great cast and it's good to see Josh Hartnett again. Interesting enough he co-stars with Rosario Dawson and Alexis Bledel. All three of which starred together in Sin City. The acting is really great. I think this film is more about different love lives instead of being a movie about an infection. That's the difference of this movie as compared to most other of it's kind. The actors have good chemistry especially Frank Langella and Gena Rowlands. It may not be for everyone though as nothing really eventful happens. The tagline is "Will Love Survive?" With that note it pretty much sums up the kind of movie it shows itself to be. It was a good story, but it's pretty boring. I would say if you want a movie with some action or something shocking this movie will not meet your expectations. The last 20 minutes or so well I can't say anything about them. I would say don't watch this if you are expecting to smile. The most interesting scenes of the movie blackout leaving you to guess what happened and knowing that it probably was the negative scenario. As you know not much happy in this movie.

Dead Shadows review

So I decided to check this out mainly because of the spider lady I heard about! Looks like Japan isn't the only country that has a fetish for the absolutely strange shit and tentacles. I have to say those are some pretty awkward sexual situations. Things got the weirdest in the last 20 minutes. Nothing in this movie is explained. Like I really don't have words to describe the oddity of this movie and how nothing makes sense. Even the ending made me feel like I had just watched something that was left unfinished and just thrown out into the world. Skip this one it's not even worth the spider lady. Would have been way better without all the plot holes.

Alpha House review

Yeah I am a sucker for checking out just about any movie. I will probably regret watching this, but hey I am taking one for the team. There is a constant stream of beautiful women probably paid more for showing off their assets than their acting skills in this. It has it's funny moments, but seems more focused on showing off the women than actually being a decent movie. If I were to rate this on solely the women it would be a 10. For the acting and script though it takes it down a bit. Then again this is the kind of stuff you would expect from an Asylum production. I do think this is one of their better films though. The ending was pretty funny though. Not as bad as I had thought it would be.

Adult World review

The characters are interesting and diverse. It's a bit odd in parts, but it has it's own unique humor to it that keeps you interested. Emma Roberts plays off awkward so well in this as she usually does. It's a pretty smart little Indie film. The ending was pretty cute. You never know what someone is going through or what they really want to do in their lives. It's worth checking out.

The Bounceback review

This has quite an unusual and original plot that I had to see it. The characters are likeable and funny. Ralph is probably the goofiest of them though. Sara Paxton is gorgeous as always. It is one of the most awkward things to watch. I would say watching it with anyone else would be strange. It didn't end the way I expected and it was way better than I was thinking it would be. If you are looking for something new and different check this out.
