Blood Glacier review
Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 13 May 2014 06:49 (A review of Blood Glacier)Ah so this is from the director of the creative short zombie flick Rammbock. Definitely more interested now than when I saw the trailer! It looks to be similar with The Thing though. I think one of the actors in this is actually the main guy in Rammbock. I watched the dubbed version which wasn't so good. The dubbers sound like a bunch of college students. I think it would have been better to read subtitles instead. There was one scene that was emotional for me as I had a similar situation and thought it was a well done scene. The dog had to be the best character for sure though. It was cool to have creatures that weren't all CGI like most are these days. The creatures were very interesting. Not sure what to say about that ending, but it was definitely odd. It was pretty crazy.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit review
Posted : 10 years, 6 months ago on 13 May 2014 02:38 (A review of Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit)I have to say from the trailer I wasn't really impressed. It looked to be a bit boring. I decided to go ahead and check it out anyways. It was a bit slow moving and kind of boring to be honest. It was a smart movie though and it did have a few interesting scenes throughout. It just wasn't my cup of tea though. It's about as good as I expected to get from the trailer. The ending was alright though.

Tarzan review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 7 May 2014 04:25 (A review of Tarzan)I randomly decided to go ahead and check this out even though the trailer looked awful. The animation is awkward because on some characters and scenery it looks great, but on others it looks like complete crap. There is way too much narration! The action is pretty good. I don't get why they made it animated and didn't have the animals talk. Were they trying to make it more realistic because well they failed. Also I found it kind of silly to show the dinosaurs where they could have easily had the characters discover the amount of time it the asteroid had been there. Most of it was pretty boring and lame. I felt like I was watching something they dish out now on Cartoon Network or the Disney Channel. It felt like a rough draft rather than a final one. Skip this and watch the Disney or the live action versions instead.

Walk of Shame review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 6 May 2014 03:28 (A review of Walk of Shame)I adore Elizabeth Banks so I decided to check this out and give my opinion on the movie. Also it looked to be somewhat funny by the preview. Elizabeth looks really good in this. I think the only really funny parts were the scenes with crackheads. There isn't much to say about this. I found myself bored with the progression of the story. Most of the characters were lame. Elizabeth Banks could pull her own, but the movie was average at best.

Vampire Academy review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 4 May 2014 04:47 (A review of Vampire Academy)Vampires based off of a book. It can't be worse than Twilight right? On the plus side there are tons of hot actresses in this. Also it looks like it has a good amount of violence so that is another plus. Now to watch and see how it goes. This will be based on the fact that I am not a reader of the series and my opinion on the movie as a movie. I actually enjoyed this. The editing felt a bit awkward here and there though. The plot was interesting and kept me interested. Some of the acting wasn't very good from the lesser known actors. It had some good bits of humor especially from Zoey Deutch. It actually had a decent amount of action in it. I say it leaned more towards a girly movie, but I still enjoyed it. It was for sure better than Twilight. There are some good twists as well. The ending was a little cheesy. It left room for a sequel, which I wouldn't mind seeing as long as they actually do it.

That Awkward Moment review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 30 April 2014 04:33 (A review of That Awkward Moment)I wanted to see this because it looks funny and has a nice cast selection of Hollywood. Also woohoo for Imogen Poots I have had a crush on her since seeing her in 28 Weeks Later her second movie ever! Which has now been 7 years wow! Also realized afterwards I had seen her in V for Vendetta as well. Anyways that is besides the point. Let me focus on the movie at hand. Well this is pretty much a chick flick for dudes. I actually liked it much more than I thought I would. The characters are fun and interesting and everyone has good chemistry together. There were some scenes so awkward it was funny. They even had some scenes I didn't expect. The ending was sweet. I also thought the bloopers were kind of funny especially the last one. Anyways I don't know about everyone else, but I enjoyed it.

The Bling Ring review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 29 April 2014 11:04 (A review of The Bling Ring)I have been delaying on watching this for a minute now, but I finally have a day off to check it out. Emma Watson and Leslie Mann are probably the only real reasons I decided to check it out anyways. I think Emma Watson really pulls off the Valley girl accent quite well and she is pretty sexy in this to be honest. They are all pretty much dumb teenagers just trying to have fun, but sometimes fun can come at a high cost. Some of the scenes were a bit annoying the way they were filmed. I would have liked more Emma Watson and Leslie Mann of course, but it being based on a true story doesn't leave much liberty for more screen time I suppose. At first I couldn't tell what orientation Marc was, but after a bit I understood also looking it up helped answer the question to know for sure. I thought it was an interesting story. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't much of a masterpiece either. The ending was well done. I say check it out it might be a hit or miss.

Infected (2013) review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 22 April 2014 04:37 (A review of Infected (2013))I feel like watching something new with zombies. The UK tends to do some pretty good stuff with them so I will check it out and see how it fares. The rating is pretty low, but you never know unless you see for yourself. That's how I feel anyways. Well it's obvious that it is extremely low budget and is pretty long at almost two hours. The characters are a bit silly and some even need everything spelled out for them before they can understand what happened even though they see for themselves. I do like the fast zombie genre and love that the infection is quick. Some crazy little unexpected scenes here and there that make this zombie film seem a bit underrated. With a better script and a bigger budget this would be an excellent zombie film. As it is I still enjoy it. There are some good twists and turns. It also doesn't even feel as long as it actually is. It's pretty crazy and the ending was actually pretty good. I actually expected worse than I got. I say check it out you might surprise yourself by liking it.

Devil's Due review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 18 April 2014 06:29 (A review of Devil's Due)I am a sucker for found footage, but I think having somewhat well known actors in it takes away from what should make it special. Anyways I decided to check it out anyways despite that and the ratings. The editing made me feel like chunks of important scenes were missing. It felt exactly like Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones Part 2: Rosemary's Baby AKA Sam's Baby. I mean seriously there is nothing new or interesting about this movie. Well there was one scene I liked with the "teens" finding the dead dear, but that was about it. So if it's a found footage movie who found the footage? It wasn't the cops and I don't see a reason why the Satanists would release this footage to the public. I mean if you are going to make a found footage at least try to make it plausible. Also on a side note why did the police only question his actions and not the destruction of the entire house which seems like something out of the ordinary and should be questioned. Anyways I was really bored with this one. The ending was pretty lame. There are too many plot holes and just plain unsolved questions. Skip this as it isn't worth the hour and a half of life you won't get back.

Stalled review
Posted : 10 years, 7 months ago on 13 April 2014 11:45 (A review of Stalled)I find it to be a funny original gimmick to have in the zombie sub-genre so I decided I would check it out. I can tell that it is pretty low budget from the get go. It should be interesting though as it is British. I usually get a kick out of British horror. Jeff from I.T. 'nuff said. This kind of reminds me of Feast meets Shaun of the Dead in a bathroom. It also reminds me of the rule from Zombieland about bewaring of bathrooms. It has it's share of funny moments. These zombies are smart and stupid depending on the situation. The end was funny. There is a scene at the end of the credits if you enjoyed this enough to see it.
